5 years ago me and my wife separated. we have a son together and at the time we shared split custody. After a year of separation she became hooked on crystal meth, and the split custody became me having him full time. She was making no attempts to be a mom or to better herself for the sake of our son. I had a dead end job and was constantly struggling to make ends meat even with a roommate and all my bills cut in half. I lived in the ghetto as well, due to my low income. The opportunity came up for me to get a high paying job and full benefits for me and my son, but i would have to move out of state. So I did. I packed all of mine and his stuff and we moved about 1000 miles away. We’ve been gone for 2 years now, and while we’ve been gone my ex got deeper and deeper into meth. She has only called twice in 2 years to check on him or see how he’s been, no calls on christmas or birthdays or anything. I recently found out she has been charged with first degree murder along with some other guy for killing and robbing a sugar daddy of hers. she was arrested driving the victims car a couple hours after the homicide. I called her mom to verify this and its true. Upon talking to her family i realized they all blame me for her actions, for taking my son with me. They say she couldnt get better because she was too depressed that he was gone. I have already been feeling guilt the last couple of years from this, but now its getting unbearable, the fact that im even remotley connected to a murder case doesnt sit well with me. My intentions were to provide a better life for my son, so we didnt have to go to bed every night listening to sirens and gun shots. There was times when i was so hungry but did not eat just so he could eat enough to fill him up. I had to get us out of this enviroment. Am i wrong for what I did? For trying to provide a better life? I know she loves him but honestly i hoped this would help get her clean and it did exactly the opposite.
this isnt trolling!!!! 1000’s of people are murdered every year, and people all around the victims and suspects both are affected by it. i just simply wish to hear some other perspectives on this other than my families and friends because their opinions are always bias towards favoring me.
