Question by John: Damage to my lungs and/or throat and it wont heal! Does anyone know what this is and how to get rid of it?
I am 23 and I used to be a heavy smoker. To elaborate on what I’m saying, i used to smoke about 2 packs of cigarets, lots of pot, and crystal meth every day… This went on for about a year or two… I remember feeling like my lungs were not absorbing oxygen like they were supposed to due to the heavy smoking… I would feel this often, and it would usually go away after a short time of no smoking… But one day, i felt a popping or a tearing in my throat. It would create lots of mucus and cause me to spit from lungs or throat, but i had no sensation to cough… This was about 3 years ago, I have since turned my life around, and i do not smoke anything anymore. That being said, this problem has not healed and has in fact gotten worse. It feels like it has spread from my throat throughout my entire body, and I am now having infections in the form of cysts and skin infections… Doctors think I’m getting infections because of the soap I’m using, and when i tell them that it feels like it stems from my throat, they think I’m crazy. I know for a fact that it has to do with my throat or whatever got messed up from all that smoking… I know I made some terrible decisions in the past, but if anyone out there knows anything about this or has ever heard of something like this please respond!

John any damage you caused from smoking is not only done also is irreversible. Fortunately, you probably did not do much damage in these years and are giving your system a good time to heal b not exposing to dangerous products anymore. Sticking with your doctors is the best remedy. You can try imple things are steaming, gargles, soup etc and I am confident that your symptoms will improve inshaAllah (by the will of Allah/ Creator), good luck!
