Crystal Meth Facts: Drug Use or Just Losing Weight Through Workouts?

Question by Just Me: Drug use or just losing weight through workouts?
There is a family member who I and a few others in the family suspect is on drugs. This person has a past abuse history with cocaine and crystal meth.

About two months or so ago, he was about 190 pounds and a size 38 in pants. Suddenly, according to his wife, he began “working out”, which was a series of pushups. Two months later, he is now under 160 pounds and is a size 32 in pants (down from a size 38). He hhas lost over 30 pounds and several sizes in just a matter of weeks.

However, he hasn’t changed his diet in any way. He’s always eaten junk and he still continues t eat junk (ribs, burgers, etc.) and we find it hard to believe that he has lost all this weight just by doing a set of pushups. Not to mention the fact that while at a pool party over the weekend, we observed that he is not getting muscular, but instead, is turning to skin and bones.

I guess my question is, is it possible to lose this amount of weight in such a short time ONLY doing pushups?
Again, he has not at all changed his diet and his weight loss looks very unhealthy. As far as we know, he doesn’t have a very fast metabolism, as, when he got off drugs, he quickly gained weight.

It is possible, but very unlikely because push-ups should cause an increase in his pectorals and chest. If he’s doing _nothing_ different, then “skin and bones” is a bad sign.
