Ok I’m asking this because my sister just had her baby and they took the child because the placenta tested positive for meth..she tells me she never smoked while pregnant i don’t believe her..I’m trying to figure out how long it would stay in the placenta so i know roughly when she was using…PLEASE NO RUDE COMMENTS I JUST WANT TO KNOW FACTS NOT LECTURE ON HOW BAD OF A MOM SHE IS BECAUSE I ALREADY KNOW SHE IS

Chemicals break down exponentially in your system so what that boils down to is it takes about 1-4 days for meth to be out of your system. If the fetus or placenta tested positive for meth, it is pretty certain she had been exposed to it within that week. Meth is a dangerous substance. If she was in a home where it was being made or used regularly, it can get into her system through her skin.
