ok, so my boyfriend has pretty much just stopped excessively taking adderall everyday (no prescription) to stay awake on it to get stuff done. recently, he got another new job which is very time consuming & he purchased 30 vyvance pills to get the work completed “quicker.” right after going through all the side effects of him taking too much adderall everyday, he’s now seemingly falling into the same BAD path as he was going down with adderall, except with vyvance. he told me he wasn’t going to stay awake on them & take them overnight, but the other night he did and i got so upset at him. not only because he told me he wasn’t going to do that anymore, but because i’m so concerned that our relationship is going to end up the same way as it was going when he was addicted to adderall. that stuff really messed him up and instead of re-assuring me he won’t end up like that again & being sorry for doing what he did, he takes away the fact he was going to get my windows tinted & car detailed. he also asked for his apartment key back which he just gave to me the day before! he always seems to take it away from me when he gets mad at me, but i am honestly so mad and upset i don’t know what to do at this point. 🙁 WHY am I the one whose getting punished for being worried and concerned for US?! i don’t get that. :'( ultimately, i’m trying to figure out what the worse outcome could be if he continues to take vyvance to get his work done? how is his usage & the side affects, different from people who are prescribed it? how can you tell if you really need it? & what signs do i look out for (as a non-user) to see if he’s getting addicted to it?

Vyvanse is converted by the liver into dextro-amphetamine, the strongest component of Adderral.
No one truly needs amphetamines. Even when it is prescribed for someone it invariably further complicates matters, sooner or later. If the logic of it being safe for those it is prescribed were true, then they should also be safe using meth.
As for signs, his abuse of it is plentiful symptom. He is addicted to it.
