It’s estimated that in many of America’s rural counties -where teen-pregnancy, alcoholism, crystal meth addiction and spousal abuse are most common- that over half of all adults share the paranoid anti-government views held by Jimmy Lee Dykes. In fact, it’s estimated that if HIPPA laws regarding treatment for mental illness were relaxed and state reporting to Federal Agencies regarding criminal activities were improved, that fewer than half of the residents of most of America’s Conservative rural Western and Southern counties would be legally able to purchase a firearm.
What’s your response to learning that the reason the NRA has backed off support for universal background checks for gun-sales (something they once claimed to have supported) is the realization that Jimmy Lee Dykes political views are not an exception, but a prime example of your average NRA members attitudes towards government?
